The ghost of the warrior Atsumori sits
on a stool (shoogi) to tell his confessional tale. To faciliate
arm movenments the right sleeve of the outer robe (chooken) is removed
and rolled up in back (katanugi) to reveal the sleeve of the underkimono
(atsuita). He wears a white headband (hachimaki) over
his mask (juuroku). Compare the designs on this costume with
