Chapter 4 Evening Faces Yûgao
.In this chapter Genji begins his affair with the Rokujô lady, but nurses a hidden passion for his stepmother Fujitsubo, who greatly resembles his dead mother Kiritsubo. Genji has another affair with Yûgao, who gets her name from the "evening flower vine" she has
one of her servants present Genji along with a poem. Later in the chapter, Genji takes Yûgao away to a desolate house so they can be alone together. Yûgao is killed there by an unknown possessing spirit.
