Nonomiya (The Shrine in the Fields)

Two images of Rokujô at the torii gate of the Nonomiya (temporary shrine in the fields). The costumes indicate slightly different interpretations of her character. On the left she is dressed as a typical aristocratic woman (with the Zo no Onna mask); on the right as a shrine priestess with dancing cloak and red split hakama pants (with Ko-omote mask). How might these two interpretations affect your understanding of her character?
